16 : Wed May 16 (Suron) :: The Almoth Agreement
RE-DRAFT OF INITIAL TREATY
In the village of Almoth elements of the Imperial Army met with Mairead of
the Mael Mahdi'in to discuss a truce leading to a formal peace treaty.
Terms of this treaty were subsequently accepted at a council of the Mael
Mahdi'in, activating the truce.
Conditions under which the truce holds are outlined below.
MAEL MAHDI'IN
* 1. Members will announce their presence and identify themselves in a loud
voice (yell) upon entering Imperial Territory, namely all of the Almoth
Plains, Tarabon, and the western flanks of the Mountains of Mist. Members
are not to enter Toman Head at all.
2. Members will never attack Imperial Troops.
3. If members are part of a larger group that is attacked, they will
identify themselves at first opportunity or lose personal immunity under
the truce.
4. Members will not enter Imperial territory as part of a warparty, nor
will they associate with any clan considered to be engaged in rebellion by
the Imperial Army. This primarily but not exclusively includes the various
factions of the Children of Light, the Red Eagles, and all those sworn to
the service of the White Tower.
5. No marath'damane or similarly tainted male is to enter Imperial
Territory at any time. Anyone accompanying one will be considered a rebel.
6. Members are not to pass on information on the movements of Imperial
forces. Any attempt to do so will be considered espionage and treated as
rebellion. This extends to the wards of members as well.
IMPERIAL TROOPS
1. Known Mael Mahdi'in will not be attacked, nor will anyone junior found
in their ward.
2. Neither Mael Mahdi'in nor their junior wards will be threatened for
information.
3. Combat will be broken off once identification of Mael Mahdi'in has been
confirmed.
4. Mael Mahdi'in and their wards are free to travel in Imperial Territory
for the purpose of gathering experience in the land and training. If zone
becomes hostile they may be instructed to leave.
If any breech of this treaty is witnessed, details are to be forwarded to
the Imperial Conscripts Alastair or Suron, and to Mairead of the Mael
Mahdi'in.
Signed
Alastair, Sei'taer Fourth
Suron of Alqam, Imperial Conscript
Mairead of the Mael Mahdi'in
Terms accepted by Council of the Mael Mahdi'in
APPENDUM
During the rallying of the new Conscripts for the Imperial Army a directive
was given by High Lord Sorvak Modaeren that in his absence those of
highest Sei'taer were to lead.
At the time of the meeting with the Mael Mahdi'in, Alastair was the highest
in sei'taer available to attend, and thus the agreement was made on behalf
of those Conscripts of lower rank. It does not cover any of the Morat, nor
any member of the Deathwatch (who's duty is to the Empress alone).
Likewise, any conscript of higher sei'taer than Alastair, namely Cato,
Malkav and Drakavrea are free under High Lord Sorvak's directive to
contest this document.
It is a request by the signed that they be advised of any disputed terms.
It is a further request that the Blood ratify any draft they find to their
satisfaction.
CURRENT ACTIONS
In response to Cato (Sei'taer First), A future meeting is to be made with
the Mael to discuss term #1. For the benefit of the agreement, it is
requested that any infringement on the current treaty be forwarded to
its signed, along with any request for presence.
