There are plenty of Wheel of Time games out there - MUDs, MOOs, MMORPGs - you name it, The "Wheel of Time" is an immensely popular theme, and it's quite bizarre that no commercial multiplayer game has been made from it yet. However, what IS missing is a quality Wheel of Time MMORPG - a sure bet in commercial terms. Our place. For more than 10 years the Wheel of Time has been the most popular Wheel of Time themed game online. The game has been running since 1993, and more than 2.7 million characters have been created over this time. The game runs with the late Robert Jordan's personal permission and we like to think that we've succeeded in building the world religiously around the series to a degree that no other game has.

Made by amateurs much like us, WOTLAS ( Wheel Of Time - Light and Shadow ) was at attempt at a Wheel of Time MMORPG using free software available under the GNU General Public License. They ran out of steam in 2002, but it was written 100% in Java, using 2D graphics, an enhanced communication system and a hybrid client-server approach. The screenshots certainly looked very nice, and in fact a 2D client is something that we've also considered pursuing at one point (see the stubs here and here), and may do so again sometime in the future.

Scripted MMORPG Webpage game. Seems like quick easy fun - Wheel of Time mud players were thrilled at the ease and it had quite a cult following for a while. Not a graphical World of Warcraft-like MMORPG in the sense that MMORPG player might expect, instead a series of script-running webpages with graphics hooked in.
