In the past week the Staff and Immortals have reviewed the 'Personal Weapons' topic that we originally asked you for feedback on. After reading 5 pages of your comments, we added a few pages of our own in discussion. 9 Immortals weighed in on the conversation, and here are some of the comments made:
Quote:
-- I think they were a well intended idea that didn't work as hoped, and that they generally are a part of unbalancing northern PK.
-- I'd still wholeheartedly support the removal of personal weapons. I think I'd prefer having issuable eq for qps. Less upkeep, and less stacking bonuses.
-- As a player fighting against someone who's got one it basically feels like a stackable bonus that's unfair to those without them - removing them seems to be the best option from here.
-- Okay, the general consensus I'm getting is "good idea, failed in execution, remove them, possibly tweak and reintroduce them another time"
-- Make them rank 8 only, across the board.
As a result of your input, as well as our discussion internally, the decision has been reached that the personal weapons will be removed from the game on Sunday. Masters who had a weapon will be given a free practice reset at their request by an available Staff member. In the future we will be looking at possibilities to re-implement them in a different way, but as of today, there is no immediate plan to do so.
We will be watching this for the next 30 days to see how this affects pk and balance overall and then we will revisit it.
