MOBOL, MOB Operating Language
Cities
-
When shops open and close, a zone echo about a bell that gongs indicating that the shop is open or closed.
-
When players ask for items the shopkeeper doesn't have, shopkeeper to direct them to zone where it loads ... making it into an adventure.
-
Mobs that just say things for the hell of it, giving clues to other adventures.
-
Mobs in conversation with each other.
-
Global narrates asking for help when mobs are attacked, by whitecloaks. ie:
Citizens, to arms! Darkfriends in xxxx.
-
Lots of spam in cities, thus people feel it's busy.
Zones
-
Mandatory mobol challenge in each new zone, ie if there is money loaded somewhere,
a mob who whispers "heard about the secret treasure in the xxx?" and then make a conversation based on that. This can be expanded, into:
-
Directing the player elsewhere, to ask someone else;
-
Directing the player to room descriptions which has embedded clues using, say, keywords;
-
Alluding to zone resets by using /coms to /force a mob to tell another mob elsewhere that would do something like receive a message from a pigeon and say something about reinforcements in a trolloc castle.

pause

END
IF hear 25% (light OR children OR whitecloak)
THEN
peer @name
say You do walk in the Light, don't you @name?
END
IF hear 25% shaitan
THEN
say Only a Darkfriend would use that name, @name!
kill @name
END
IF hear 25% (tower OR aes OR sedai OR warder)
THEN
emote spits over his shoulder at the mention of the White tower.
END
IF get 100% (scalp AND Trolloc)
THEN
sameclan @name
emote exclaims in admiration!
say great work, @name
/player @name qp 1
END
sameclan will abort if the person is not in the same clan as the mob. /player qp gives qp as usual, and the new ruletype get will be triggered if the mob is given something, in this case a PC trolloc scalp. It's a player because Trolloc is capitalized, otherwise it would be a mob.
