'The road to Aes Sedai' and 'On the philosophy of the Ajahs', by Sherina Maracome, Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. Many pitfalls can befall one who can channel, so these words were penned to aid those who would walk in the light and use the One Power as it should be used, for the White Tower. If you are born with the One Power, soon after you begin to show signs of channeling, it is advisable for you to contact Sheriam Sedai, Mistress of Novices and join our ranks. As a Novice, you will be asked to do certain things by the Mistress of Novices, and are expected to obey and complete these tasks quickly. You are also expected to aid all of those of the Tower, be it Warder, Valon or Accepted, in any way you can, with small healing, locating objects and other small tasks they might ask of you. You will commonly be addressed by full Sisters as Novice or child, and you are to address the Sisters as Aes Sedai, or for example Sheriam Sedai. You will be strictly disciplined and held to the conduct of all Aes Sedai. All training takes place in the Tower. Until your weaves are strong, avoid taking on shadowspawn in direct attacks. However, do not cower in the Tower in fear of the Dark One's grasp, but support your full sisters, be it by changing the weather, locating Shadowspawn, providing food and water, refreshing You may also prevail upon full sisters to teach you a weave that they may specialize in. Contact the Aes Sedai in a letter, as they move about the world a great deal and request their help at a convenient time. Do not expect that all Sisters will be able to help you and only ask for training on one weave or group of weaves at a time. At a specific time, when Sheriam Sedai has deemed you worthy, you will be called forth to take the test for Accepted. Deep within the bowels of the tower you will be taken and must step into an Ter'Angreal. You must enter naked and unwarded. Three times you must go through the Ter'Angreal and face your deepest fears. If at any time after starting the test you falter and fear consumes you enough that you cannot go on you will be put out of the tower, with no further training. Be wary, for the danger within the Ter'Angreal is real and some women never return. What is seen within the rings is not spoke of to anyone else. Once Accepted, you are allowed a greater freedom in your actions, though you must still hold to the Three Oaths and follow the White Tower's rules. An accepted can still be called before Sheriam Sedai for breaking the rules and is usually more painful then as a Novice. As always, report to Sheriam Sedai about any deeds you might have done or taken part in or any strange items you may find in the world. Again at an appropriate time Sheriam will nominate you to come before the Hall of the Tower. After addressing the Hall and the Amyrlin, the Sitters will state your fitness by way of what they have observed and you are either raised to Aes Sedai or remain accepted for a while longer. You will be asked to choose your Ajah at that time, though most have been guided towards it long before this time. A thorough report of the Ajahs and ways in which they interact with the world is available. Continue to write reports to the Tower, though now they should be addressed to Alviarin Sedai the Keeper. Once raised you should choose a Warder to bond from among the Valon who have been trained by Hammar Gaiden or another of your choice. The Warder however must be approved by the Amyrlin or there will surely be trouble. As always we must hold to the Three Oaths. by Sherina Maracome Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah On the philosophy of the Ajahs The White Ajah The person to chose the White Ajah is a very logical person and very cool and collected in her dealings with others. They rarely, even more so then any other Aes Sedai, show emotion. They study and teach things relating to logic and do not interact much with the world at large. No Aes Sedai of the White has come to be of note at this time. The Brown Ajah Another Ajah that does not strictly deal with the world at large. They spend their time in tracking, compiling and deep study of information long lost. Most wander absently about the Tower not aware at all of things going on around them or in the World at large. They can be a wonderful fountain of information about things; if you can keep them focused on your question. The Red Ajah The Red Ajah, as all the world knows concerns itself with the search, capture and subsequent stilling of dreaded male channelers. They are also concerned with finding darkfriends but that is second on their list. Most Reds are hard women who dislike any males to the extreme, though there are a few who do not strictly feel this way. Reds do not take a Warder, though occasionally some can be heard to regret this. They do not encourage friends within other Ajahs and most become very arrogant in thinking they are the only true Ajah. A Red Sister of note is Tara Sedai. The Yellow Ajah The Yellow Ajah is well known for their healing skills. They are mostly gentle people who study any type of healing and generally believe that everything short of death can be healed. Most healing skills have been lost over the years though they work to relearn what they can. Yellow Sisters of note among us are Claudia Sedai and Selene Sedai. The Green Ajah The Green Ajah known as the Battle Ajah are very much the warrior and are almost always present fighting Shadowspawn in anyway possible. They frequently take more then one Warder and together they are known to be a sharp thorn to the Dark One. There are numerous Sisters of note in the Green Ajah at this time, Fire Sedai, Sabrin Sedai, Shawny Sedai, Sherina Sedai and Vazia Sedai. The Gray Ajah Well known for their skills in mediation, the Gray Ajah has been a large part of keeping peace between the lands. They have prevented many wars from being started, stopped others and created many Treaties. One of the more notable being the Covenant of the Ten Nations. The Blue Ajah The ways of the world are what the Blue Ajah involves themselves in. They travel the land involving themselves in politics and causes and bending people to the will of the Tower or towards what they believe is right and just. They get a feel for people outside the Tower and report back about how things could be done and what is happening with their causes. Sisters of note during this time are Laera Sedai and Reanna Sedai. |
