The game works in much the way that you'd probably expect it to - you and other
players from aound the globe whack the bad guys and get rewarded for it.
However, many of our www tourists are unfamiliar with muds and get disheartened
because they don't understand. Indeed, before logging on, it helps to know
some of the basic commands, to be familiar with the command line interface and
what it all means when you first log on. Your first hour or so online will
probably be spent getting to grips with these things: save yourself the hassle
and spend 15 minutes reading the beginner's tutorial here.
| | | | In fact, our website contains all the information that you need to get started:
click on any of the links to activate the Guardian's Library, which is itself a
secondary website of 'how to play/what does this mean' type information. Note
that the guardian has a mind of his own, so his notes are
(intentionally) cryptic at times. In other words, we've left a lot of the
details for you to discover in the game, we think that's more fun. Trés useful:
Races Classes Warriors Rangers Thieves Weapons

| | | Important:
Don't make the mistake of diving straight in and skipping the rules. We're fair,
so us having to bust you for an infringement you're not aware of and you saying
'but I havn't read the rules' just doesn't cut it - we even remind you when you
first log on. It's only 5 rules, for God's sake!!
|
| | | Help can be accessed in the mud itself by typing help followed by the subject.
So, for help on weaves, type 'help weaves' and so on. If you're really stuck
with something, ask the other players, who, unless there is some major PK action
going on that they're busy with, will more than likely be happy to help you.
If you find it hard to gain levels as a beginner, remember that high-level
players get a bonus for helping you level, so ask around if anyone is levelling
newbies ('newbie trains').

Do's Read the rules.
Form groups. Ask other players for advice. Use a decent name for your character. Help spread the word. | Don'ts Don't attack everyone in sight straight away just because we're a pk mud. You'll get
wasted.
Whine if you die. Everyone dies, that's life - deal with it. Feign ignorance of the rules. USE UPPERCASE. It's noisy. |
