STATTING SECRETS

Statting can be a frustrating, seemingly never-ending experience. Follow a few simple tips to make your life easier!

Get help from others:

Your best bet is to type 'Listen All' this will turn on global channels. You can then type 'Chat are these stats ok for XX class? . You will generally get many helpful answers. The above listed stat guidelines are what most consider "playable" and would be recommended for newer players as a starting character. Once you are more familiar with the game, it is highly advisable to try beating the minimum listed statsums. If you are not satisfied with the stats you received, simply type 'restat'. This command will bring you back to level 1 and you can start the whole process over again. Remember that when you stat you forget everything you learned so far! This means you will have to walk back to the Ranger Practice area to learn how to ride again.

Other tips to make your statting life more bearable:

Remember to type 'K Cute' for cute brown deer. If your level 1 and you type 'K Deer' and a buck is in the room, this can target the buck instead. Bucks are much harder to kill and I would not suggest trying it until you are level 3 or 4.

Aliasses!

Aliases allow you to set a command to a single key so you do not have to type in the same thing multiple times. Some common statting aliases are 'Kill Deer', 'Kill Tree' or 'Eat Meat' 'Drink Skin'. Set these to keys you will remember. I often use 'p' for 'kill cute' and things such as 'DS' for 'drink skin'. To set your alias type alias . Example: 'Alias P kill cute'. This sets the command 'kill cute' to 'P' so when I want to kill a cute brown deer I simply type 'p' then 'enter'

I saw a Red or Purple named player run by!

These colors allow us to tell the difference between Seanchan players and Darkside players (trolls, fades and dreadlords). Seanchan players are shown in purple and Darkside is shown in red. Normally people would fight these players but you do not have to worry while statting. These people CAN and MAY kill you. However, they generally will leave you alone if you leave them alone. Leaving them alone includes not alerting everyone to their location. By not attacking you, they trust you to stay quiet. Occasionally, a Darkside player may attack your horse. This means that you should dismount and leave and not find another horse right away.

Oh No! I am out of meat!

Another useful skill to pick up at the Ranger Practice is survival. The survival skill allows you to butcher meat from your fresh kill. You only need to train in this skill one time for right now. To use it, first be sure you are wielding a dagger, then type 'butcher corpse'. You will then cut off meat from that kill you just made. This sums up the basics to statting along with helpful tips. If you have any additional questions as you continue, you may use the chat channel at any time to get help from other players. Remember, statting is only the beginning of this great game and much more lies ahead!
