PLAY THE GAME!

Play using the
beginner client,
which has first
commands installed. Play using a java applet. For older PCs with smaller screens. Play using the fullscreen client. For screens with normal resolutions. Play using the extrascreen client. For fast PCs & high resolutions. Play using telnet software (not on Vista)

THE FIRST COMMANDS

If you are using the beginner's client you will not need to use these as they have been added as buttons. If not, these are the first commands that you should enter in the Circle of Light. They will furnish you with essential starting equipment and toggle your character options to minimise spam:

tell guardian kit

Gives you a weapon, money, food, water, clothes and a lantern.

color complete

Shows your output in colour - much easier to read

change spam 1

Essential command to reduce on-screen spam and clutter

listen all

Means you can hear what's going on over global channels

Useful ingame commands

look

see room description

exits

see the exits from a room

west

walk one room west. Likewise, north goes 1 room north... etc

open xxx

used to open doors

get xxx

picks an item off the floor, eg. get lantern

inventory

tells you what you have in your inventory

wear xxx

the command used to wear things you have in inventory

wield xxx

the command used to wield weapons from your inventory, eg. wield sword

remove xxx

removes an item your wearing and moves it into your inventory, eg remove shoes

eat xxx

eats an item from your inventory if edible, eg. eat meat

drink xxx

drinks from whatever is in certain containers, eg. drink fountain

kill xxx

engages you onto your selected target, eg. kill deer

flee

allows you to flee from the fight by moving you to another room, the only way to stop being attacked

rest

puts you into a resting position where you will regenerate your health and moves quicker.

stand

moves you to standing position, ready to move again

equipment

shows you what you are wearing

who

tells you who else is online. each name in the list is a different person

tell name xxx

sends a message to that person only that person will see

say xxx

shows whatever you said to everyone else in the same room as you

rent

allows you to save your equipment at an inn.

score

amongst other things, shows you your healthpoints left out of full healthpoints

alias xxx yyy

allows you to set a shortcut to a larger command.

To finish your playing session you should go to an inn using the commands mentioned below and rent. Next time that you log on, you will be in this inn again and with all your items. If you are not in an inn and type quit you will log off where you are without saving any of your items.
