WoTmud is a Wheel of Time theme'd mud (multi-user dungeon) based on Circle mud. This text-based game is set in the world of The Wheel of Time, which is a series of books written by Robert Jordan. Players may PK, RP, or just simply chat with each other in the game.
It has extensive areas to play in, including several Cities. Caemlyn, Tar Valon, Amador, Fal Dral, are just some of the places found. You can journey through the spine, fight Aiel. Or, go on a cute deer (evil :p ) hunting trip in the Braem Forest. You can venture to Jafar, or Flame, and fight with Seanchan or just sit around Caemlyn Central Square, the possibilities are endless, and with the many areas, you will probably not run out of places to visit.
Players are more or less not limited in what they can do, as far as PK or RP. Also you can kill anyone, or anything available, but this does not mean there will not be consequences. Limits come with the laws of the different clans on the mud. Disobey and be forced to see their justice be taken upon you. If you begin killing other Players, and looting their EQ, you might find yourself hunted by every clan in the game. (not fun)
You can RP just about any WoT character, from Aes Sedai to White Cloaks, from Trollocs to Fades. Or start your own RP, (nonclan) and claim to be an abandoned Seanchan fighting on your own, killing those that have what you need. Or RP an Aiel, that came across the Spine to explore the lands west of your homeland. Quests are held every so often to add a little extra fun. Also, some players organize events, such as Karri’s Bel Tine - which kinda turned into a massive PK experience, but hey, it was fun :)
This mud is constantly being modified, and as a player you have the option of suggesting changes on the issues board. Imms are always getting involved and letting the players have some fun. There are only 5 rules to the game, and apart from that, you are more or less free to do what you want. Which makes it all the more fun.
