Roleplay log: Death on Dragonmount!

The Boulders Near Dragonmount
The towering and dominating mountain known as Dragonmount stands in unnatural
height to the east. This great peak has stood as a landmark and source of both
inspiration and fear for uncounted years; a single, unforgettable marker as to
the true power, and danger, of the tainted Saidin.
[ obvious exits: N W ]
An Illianer steed stands here proudly, its black mane glistening, being ridden by you.
Maiel ti'Mashar, the Wanderer is standing here, riding a gray palfrey.
A gray palfrey prances skittishly nearby.
Teveyl Myshkin, a helplessly lost traveler is standing here.
A wild stallion bucks madly.
Dovim Sha`din, the disgraced tinker is sitting here.

Maiel gasps in astonishment.

Leandria echos Maiel’s gasp.

Teveyl warms his hands over a small fire. His face and hands mostly hidden in the dark folds of his cloak

Teveyl winces as the firelight reveals some hideous disfigurements.

Dovim gazes upward, still warming himself by the fire.

Dovim says 'Greetings travelers.'

Maiel says 'I didn't expect to see anyone here'

Leandria nods.

Maiel brushes a raven curl from her cheek, revealing a few light wrinkles.

Maiel ti'Mashar, the Wanderer is standing here, riding a gray palfrey.
Teveyl Myshkin, a helplessly lost traveler is standing here.
Dovim Sha`din, the disgraced tinker is here.

Dovim says 'nor did we expect company.'

Teveyl glances at you, seemingly not understanding the meaning of strangers.

The day has begun.

Maiel says 'I'm just an old woman...I wouldn't call myself company'

Teveyl says 'Haven't seen anyone...so long...'

Teveyl ponders life, the universe, and everything.

Leandria looks a bit uneasy, at meeting strangers.

Maiel says 'would you mind if we warmed ourselves by your fire?'

Dovim says 'Take a sit, if you want. We have plenty of fire.'

Maiel stops riding a gray palfrey.

Maiel nods slightly.

Leandria looks to Maiel, watching her lead.

Teveyl says 'Old woman...mature is what you are.'

Maiel laughs bitterly.

Leandria says ' I have been trying to tell her the same.

Maiel says 'a hundred an fifty five years is long enough'

Dovim looks at you.

Leandria says ' But she mocks my youth, instead.

Dovim says 'Maybe you did not try hard enough.'

Teveyl says 'you could make a man happy, what's your name?'

A wild stallion flickers its ears.

Maiel says 'Maiel ti'Mashar'

Maiel says 'I am the daughter of Golam Rho'Darynn'

Dovim says 'Golam?'

Dovim says 'I know that name.'
Teveyl nods in agreement.

Dovim beams a smile at Maiel.
Maiel nods slightly.

whois golam
Golam Rho'Darynn is a human.

A tall, lithe man loiters here, his bright green eyes a sharp contrast to
his unkept, short black hair. His gaze takes you in with a calm curiosity,
his hand falls habitually to his sword.

Maiel says 'many do...he went mad when I was a girl'

Dovim looks Maiel up and down.

Teveyl says 'I've heard of you around a campfire in the north, that is where he died is it not?'

Leandria takes the two horses, and ties them lightly to a nearby tree.

Maiel pulls a silver flask from her hip.

Maiel takes a drink, flinching slightly at the taste of the ale.

Dovim says 'Indeed, but a good man. '

Leandria checks to make sure the knot will come undone easily, if required.

Dovim says 'Many go mad in the tire of searching for sanity.'

Maiel says 'Golam? No, not a good man…

Teveyl looks into the fire, lost in a small swirl of sparks.

Teveyl nods at Maiel.

Leandria tilts her head, a wisp of hair falling from behind her ears.

Maiel says 'Golam died in the arms of Mashadar, leaving me alone in Shadar Logoth'

The snow lightens up a bit.

Dovim says 'A child in Shadar Logoth?'

Dovim says 'You must be immensely powerful.'

Maiel looks up at the two men, her face cast with shadows.

Leandria looks at Maiel, hearing further bits of the story.

Maiel says 'So they said'

Dovim says 'tell us more, how did you survive?'

Leandria nods in agreement with the stranger.

Maiel says ‘It makes no difference, they say that I’m simply a old woman now.’

Dovim says 'They clearly are wrong.'

Dovim says 'Power never leaves those that were born with it.'

Maiel grins evilly.

Teveyl says 'Or born for it...'

Dovim nods at Teveyl.

Dovim says 'Indeed. It seems to find those born for it.'

Maiel says 'oh I was born with it...'

Leandria ponders the words, trying to digest them carefully.

Teveyl says 'tell us who these 'they' are, perhaps your new mission will be to change these opinions.'

Maiel says 'sit sister...'

Maiel laughs bitterly.

Leandria nods, still looking a bit uneasy.

Leandria moves towards the fire.

Dovim says 'Let down your guard, youngin'. Only acquaintances sit around this fire.'

You sit down and rest your tired bones.

You sheath an ebony shortblade into a shoufa with a black veil.

Dovim smiles brightly.

Maiel says 'I am an inadequate wisdom, they feel I've neglected my village'

Dovim says 'A whole village?'

Leandria inhales, sputtering...

Leandria stutters,' But I’m sure its just a mistake...

Leandria stammers, ' The council....

Maiel takes another sip from her flask.

Dovim says 'You were wisdom of which town?'

Leandria says ' Surely....

Maiel says 'Aringill'

Teveyl says 'And Golam, What did his village wisdom do when the taint crept up?'

Teveyl says 'I'll tell, they either did nothing, or sent him to Mashadar.'

Teveyl spits over his shoulder.

Dovim says 'Wow, that's a big city. Almost the size of Caemlyn.s'

Leandria halts her ramblings, listening to the men.

Dovim says 'You must have been one important lady

Dovim says 'I bet you still have it in you....'

Maiel runs her fingers through her raven curls.

Leandria smiles widely, her cheeks dimpling.

Dovim says 'But probably in a different area of expertise.'

Maiel says 'My father was High Seat of a great family'

Maiel says 'the Children of Light came and killed my mother when I was a girl...then he went mad'

Maiel says 'Golam had nothing to do with Aringill'

Dovim frowns.

Leandira tilts her head again, hearing things she did not know before.

Maiel says 'they wouldnt let me guide a village if they knew my father was tainted'

Teveyl says 'But did the Wisdom help him?'

Dovim says 'This spot, this mountain.'

Maiel says 'no one helped him'

Leandria looks around at the mountain.

Dovim says 'Such a grand marker of the power that your father must have wielded.'

Leandria’s eyes soften, as she listens to your tale.

Maiel shakes her head.

Dovim says 'I bet you could help him.'

Maiel says 'I don't wish to think of him'

Dovim says 'The memory of him at least.'

Teveyl spits in the fire, laughing bitterly as it hisses.

Maiel says 'you can't bring back the dead'

Leandria says ' Unfortunatley, no, sister.

Teveyl says 'so they say...'

Leandria ponders again, their curious use of phrases.

Maiel removes her cloak, revealing a silver silken gown.

Teveyl whistles appreciatively.

Maiel says 'so tell me...what do you gentlemen do, besides talk to old women'

Teveyl says 'Didn't know wisdom got to where dresses like that.'

Dovim says 'Bring vitality to those that need it.'

Dovim says 'Perhaps it is no chance that you came upon us.'

Maiel says 'perhaps not'

Dovim says 'Coincidence my dear ladies, is what our world was made from.'

Leandria says, ' We may wear what we choose.

Maiel says 'do you know that I nearly removed the taint from Dozentrio'

Maiel smiles faintly.

Maiel says 'You've heard his name have you not?'

Dovim says 'Dozentrio.....'

Dovim says 'I know of him, yes.'

Leandria pushes her hood back, keeping her cloak closed, a bit self conciously.

Maiel says 'I removed his scars and veins...and he never forgot'

Dovim says 'Once upon a day, I walked the earth with him...But before he was tainted.'

Teveyl nods at you.

Maiel says 'they say those men are evil'

Maiel says 'sometimes I wonder if they're just misunderstood'

Maiel says 'if you're hated, what choice do you have'

Leandria nods in utter agreement with Maiel.

Dovim says 'They imprisoned the Dark One.'

Maiel says 'he never harmed a hair on my head'

Teveyl whispers to you, 'If we've frightened you, think nothing of it, this one just needs her confidence lifted and there is sometimes a use for a little brazen behavior.'

Leandria says ' I have tried to tell my mentor as much, when i first met her. .

Your cheeks are burning.

Leandria whispers to Treveyl, ‘oh dear, no, its just her dress is so fine compared to mine.

Dovim says 'They must have been good.'

Teveyl winks suggestively at you.

Maiel says 'who, what, when'

Maiel says 'you're just saying words...words mean nothing'

Dovim smiles happily.

Dovim says 'Words are all we have'

Maiel says 'they make no sense...'

Teveyl says 'The Woman requires action...'

Leandria smiles in embarresment, opening her cloak a bit more, revealing a simple vest of leather.

Dovim says 'Indeed.'

Dovim sits down and rests.

Maiel opens the palm of her hand, the words "Only Mashadar" still burnt into the flesh.

Teveyl strokes his chin thoughtfully.

Leandria gasps again, despite having seen the marks before.

Dovim gazes at the hand, rising his brow in interest.

Maiel says 'you sound like you want to make me an offer...wahhat offer do you two men have to make'

Leandria shakes her head slowly at the pain in the carving.

Dovim says 'l'

Dovim says 'I just know of a man.'

Dovim says 'He walks the earth, do powerful to ever be stopped, yet none know him.'

Maiel gestures briefly at Maiel, who now appears more impressive somehow.

Maiel says 'and who is he'

Dovim says 'He gives power to those that are weak, and empowers those that feel they have lost faith.'

Teveyl says 'if you would want power beyond belief, you but have to say the words.'

Maiel says 'I may have lost my faith, but I am not weak'

Leandria sighs at hearing Maiel's words.

Teveyl says 'He makes the strong stronger, and gives the alone friends.'

Dovim smiles happily.

Dovim says 'You are very powerful indeed.'

Maiel says 'you are saying dangerous words strangers'

A brown deer has arrived from the west.
Dovim says 'What danger are words?'

Maiel stands for a moment; her lithe body moving in front of Leandria

Dovim says 'You said earlier words meant nothing.'
Teveyl lies down and falls asleep.

Leandria furls her brows as she listens.

A gray palfrey lays its ears flat against its neck.

Teveyl awakens.

Teveyl blinks his eyes innocently.

Teveyl says 'dozing off, forgive me'

Maiel says 'words far less severe have caused wars'

Maiel says 'surely you know this'

Leandria stands behind Maiel.

Maiel looks at Dovim, her emerald eyes sharp.

Maiel says 'I think we should go'

Dovim says 'I am but a lonely tinker.'

Teveyl stands up his cloak falls a little, revealing hands missing fingers and rotting skin.

Dovim says 'Perhaps not.'

Teveyl clambers to his feet.

Dovim stands.

Dovim stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Leandria moves to get the horses.

Maiel reaches for the reigns to her horse.

Dovim throws his hands to the west, and rocks boulder down.

Teveyl says 'Perhaps you should repeat after ME...'

A gray palfrey pricks its ears forward and looks alert.

Teveyl says 'The Great Lord of the Dark is my Master, and most heartily do I serve him to the last shred of my very soul.'

Leandria gasps in astonishment.

Dovim throws his hands to the north, and the rocks come crushing down.

Teveyl says 'Lo, my Master is death's Master. Asking nothing do I serve against the Day of his coming, yet do I serve in the sure and certain hope of life everlasting.'

Teveyl says 'Surely the faithful shall be exalted in the land, exalted above the unbelievers, exalted above thrones, yet do I serve humbly against the Day of his Return.'

Dovim says 'There is no escape!'

Teveyl says 'Swift come the Day of Return. Swift come the Great Lord of the Dark to guide us and rule the world forever and ever.'

Dovim says 'Repeat the words!'

Leandria shrieks.

The flows holding the light ball have dissipated.

Teveyl says 'repeat!'

Maiel falls down from the shock of the rock.

Dovim says 'The Great Lord shall give you power beyond all imagination'

Maiel struggles to get up.

Leandria shivers slightly, unsure what to do.

Leandria rushes to Maiel's side.

Dovim throws his hands upwards and fire streaks down, touching them.

Teveyl giggles mirthlessly.

Maiel scrambles to her feet, still in front of Leandria

Maiel says 'get safe child'

Dovim says 'Look at the Power I wield, from my Savior.'

Maiel embraces the source.

Leandria exclaims, ' Not without you!!!

Leandria runs over to where the horses are tied.

Teveyl looks up at Dragonmount, and gets a strange look in his eyes.

Maiel closes her eyes, lifting the same boulder and throwing it back atop the mountain.

Teveyl says 'STOP LEANDRIA'

Maiel says 'I can play your games madman'

Dovim says 'With one twist of my hand I can change your fate forever!'

The air around Leandria’s eyes seems to catch fire, blinding you!

Someone laughs wickedly.

Leandria stops dead in her tracks.

Maiel says 'You think you can play this game boy'

Dovim says 'Can you?'

Leandria can't see a damned thing, she’s blinded!

Leandria gasps in astonishment.

Dovim says 'Quiet Maiel, you have some words to speak...'

Teveyl says 'if you wish to run Leandria, go.'

Maiel lifts her left hand and a bolt of lightning crashes nearby

Dovim rips a vein from the side of the mountain, lashing it out at Maiel.

Teveyl says 'Save your pathetic village from the likes of this.'

Leandria cries out, 'MAIEL!!'

Maiel falls to her knees.

Teveyl blasts Leandria with something unseen.

Maiel wipes the sweat and dirt from her cheek.

Leandria moves again tentatively, towards retreiving the horses, but doubles over in pain.

Maiel says 'I will never swear to your side'

Long shadows rise along the hills as the sun sets.

Dovim says 'You old crow.'

Maiel growls dangerously at you.

Teveyl says 'Crone, you will...'

Dovim grasps power as the night beams overhead.

Maiel says 'Malk Al'Toreth gave his life to defeat the dark one'

Leandria slowly, with great effort, lifts herself to her knees and hands.

Maiel says 'By my life I will NEVER'

Dovim says 'and the Great Lord still is in power.'

Teveyl says 'You have heard what happens when 13 fades and 13 dreadlords come together, have you not...'

Dovim says 'You shall swear or you shall die.'

A wild stallion lays its ears flat against its neck.

Maiel says 'the Great Lord you say...Great DEVIL he is'

Maiel says 'I will not'

Teveyl slaps Maiel.

Maiel sets her jaw firmly, blood mingling with sweat drips down her cheek.

Dovim picks up a handful of sand and throws it at Maiel, as it comes closer it turns to fire.

Leandria crawls closer to the horses, hand after hand, knee after knee, each inch pain ripping across her face.

The night has begun.

Dovim says 'You shall kill yourself before we are finished with you'

Maiel falls onto the ground, breathing heavily.

Teveyl says 'Enough, let me take her skin off.'

Leandria gasps in astonishment.

Teveyl looks actually close to a smile.

Leandria cries in desperation, unable to get to her goal.

Maiel writhes in pain, clutching her stomach.

Dovim peers over at Leandria, and with a merciless laugh, picks up a rock and throws it at her….Grazing her head as it hits.

Leandria wails at the added pain.

Maiel musters her strength as an unseen wall hits both the men, throwing them backwards.

Maiel says 'LEAVE HER ALONE YOU FOOLS'

Leandria 's eyes glow with a determination.

Dovim stumbles up.

Maiel stands up to her feet, and gathers her composure.

Dovim says 'So you still retain some of your power do you?'

Teveyl begins cursing, picking up a rotten finger that was displaced.

Teveyl says 'Bloody hell, so sick of this.'

Dovim throws his hands at Leandria, contorting her mind into his own control.

Dovim says 'Leandria, strike Maiel dead.'

Dovim smirks.

Maiel says 'NO'

Leandria 's glaze over, as she stands suddenly.

Leandria with pain in her eyes, she starts to move towards Maiel.

Maiel emote weaves flows of spirit, slicing Dovim's flows.

Maiel says 'you will not hurt her'

Dovim loses concentration.

Maiel creates a wall of spirit and air around Leandria, no weaves can penetrate.

Dovim glares around him.

You sense Maiel connecting to the True Source.

Dovim throws his hands at Maiel, trying to gain control of her.

Dovim says 'You shall not win that easy.'

Maiel holds the threads of power around Leandria.

Teveyl says 'Maiel, you are more powerful then I would have thought.'

Maiel begins to shake as she maintains the shield.

Maiel says 'I hear nothing you say, filth.'

Leandria stops, frozen by the weaves, her muscles clenche as she tries to break them.

Dovim says 'You are my own to control now.'

Dovim closes his hands and reaches out, grasping towards Maiel.

Dovim says 'Come to me.'

Maiel flinches, her eyes sparkling.

Teveyl throws a barrage of weaves at the weaves surrounding Leandria, they bounce off harmlessly.

Maiel drops the flows she was holding.

Dovim says 'Come to me and you shall see what the Great Lord has for you.'

A wild stallion cocks its head up sharply.

Dovim starts to sweat.

Maiel slowly walks towards Dovim.

Maiel says 'what is it you wish my love...'

Leandria 's eyes widen, as she begins to regain some awareness of her surroundings.

Dovim says 'Repeat...What I ask you to, and it shall all be over.'

Maiel cocks her head to the side, slipping her hand inside of Dovim's.

Dovim says 'The Great Lord wills you, to repeat.'

Teveyl says 'The Great Lord of the Dark is my Master, and most heartily do I serve him to the last shred of my very soul.'

Maiel says 'The Great...'

Maiel begins to shake uncontrollably.

Dovim says 'Repeat it my love, do not stop.'

Leandria cries out, but nothing is heard.

Maiel says 'The Great Lord...'

Dovim throws fire at an off a glance towards Leandria, sending her streaking to the floor.

Maiel pulls a silver dagger from her belt with her free hand.

Dovim says 'Repeat it love, no one is here to distract you.'

Maiel breaks a sweat.

Leandria crumples to the ground, your control of her broken with the force.

Dovim's eyes rip wide open.

Dovim says 'drop the dagger my love and repeat it.'

Maiel says 'The Great Lord of the dark'

Leandria whimpers with all her strength, 'no, no, no.....'
Maiel stealthily lifts the knife up and drives the it deeply into her chest.

Dovim smiles as Maiel crumbles to the ground.

Maiel says softly 'The Great Lord of the Dark...will...not...have me

Dovim says 'I'm sure Dozentrio would have smiled, if he saw you like this.'

Teveyl watches intently as the blood pours out around the dagger.

Dovim smirks.

Leandria’s eye's flood over with tears.

Maiel takes a haggard breath, the blood coming up into her mouth.

Dovim says 'In death you are his to control!'

Leandria desperately raises an arm towards Maiel.

Maiel says 'never'

Dovim kicks Leandria hard in the face.

Leandria cries, ' sister.... sister...... sister......

Dovim says 'Away scoundrel, let her die alone.'

Maiel trembles for a moment.

Dovim says 'She lived alone and will die alone, in the end.'

Maiel says 'Leandria...'

Maiel says 'take care of Aringill'

Leandria slumps from the kick, her cries ceasing.

Teveyl says 'So much power wasted...'

Maiel closes her eyes, her breath drawing shallow.

Leandria blinks, unable to move.

Dovim with quick threads of air picks a boulder from the side of the mountain and hurls it over in the direction of Maiel.

Teveyl grabs a nearby boulder with the power lifting it into the air and causing it to explode.

Leandria whispers softly, 'Maiel!'

Dovim stops it directly above her head, letting it hover there.

Teveyl says 'power...'

Teveyl says 'there is only power'

Dovim says 'This is the power you could have had, Maiel.'

Teveyl says 'And it belongs to the living.'

Dovim says 'In the world there is only power.'

Teveyl throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Teveyl looks at Maiel.

Dovim leans over to the trembling woman, blood pouring down from her mouth.

Dovim kisses Maiel gently on the lips.

Dovim says 'You could have been one of the greatest.'

Dovim looks away, uninterested as the boulder drops.

Leandria whispers softly, 'dear spirits, welcome her into the weave again.'

Campfire crumbles to dust.

Teveyl giggles behind a hand that now has only two fingers.

Teveyl giggles behind a hand that now has only two fingers.

Dovim says 'Run Leandria.'

Maiel's breath stops.

Teveyl says 'Dovim, you bloody mummer. King of melodrama eh?'

Dovim says 'Spread the word to the World, Maiel is dead and it was YOU who couldn't save her.'

Leandria struggles to pull herself onto her horse, the pain ripping across her face.

Teveyl says 'Run little Leandria, or do you want to check her purse first?'

The sun rises.

Dovim says 'When it comes time, the Great Lord will approach you too. You, who aren't as powerful as she was, will gladly close your eyes and become one of the dark.'

A wild stallion pricks its ears forward and looks alert.

Leandria wails loudly, as she tosses her nearly limp body on the gray's back.

Dovim shouts 'Maiel, is dead forever. Let those who refuse the Great Lord know the danger of it.'

Teveyl says 'The Great Lord of the Dark is my Master, and most heartily do I serve him to the last shred of my very soul.'

Leandria looks back once at Maiel's corpse, before urging her horse onward.

Teveyl shouts 'The Great Lord of the Dark is my Master, and most heartily do I serve him to the last shred of my very soul.'

In the Shadow of Dragonmount
The low plains here that span the distance between the Black Hills and the
immense Dragonmount are spotted in places with low grasses and stiff branched
shrubs. This land is in darkness more than it receives light; the sun is
hidden behind Dragonmount for most of the morning, and barely makes an
appearance overhead before it sets over the high ridges to the west.
[ obvious exits: N S W ]
An Illianer steed stands here proudly, its black mane glistening, being ridden by you.
A panther stalks through the wilderness.
A raven is visible flying high in the sky.
